Texas (Dallas) 2009 Tournaments

Pastime Tournaments likely to acquire the Grand Prairie Airhogs baseball stadium for the 16U Southwest Championships to be held July 23-26. U of Dallas and other local facilities will be used as off-site locations but things look to be finalized with the AirHogs for use of the stadium during that tournament!

We will release more information on the tournaments in the Dallas area as it becomes available. We will of course be able to guarantee the first 40+ teams registered and paid a game at either the AirHogs stadium or at U of Dallas during the tournament. Thanks.

How many teams are you taking at Dallas? Some of those are starting to fill up quickly and we may be interested in traveling down from the Midwest. Please advise.

Yes, some are filling very quickly and will continue to do so. There are still quite a few programs that have emailed us regarding those events that haven't even started scheduling tournaments yet though, there are still tryouts taking place. However, let me know what events you are looking at as we will likely take 20-25 teams at some of the tournaments in that area. Good to see some more programs from the Midwest interested in competing in Texas! Thanks.

Just a quick update ... several teams have started asking about the setup of the Texas and Oklahoma events ... both events will likely be set up in the same manner with pools of 5 teams with 4 pool play games before we set the field for Sunday's championship rounds. The events at OK State will have 30+ teams so we will take 8 teams to the championship round and, depending on the number of teams accepted, we may have a consolation bracket set up with the next 8 teams as well. The U of Dallas events will have the same set up, depending on the number of teams, but we will make everyone aware of the setup prior to the release of the schedule of course.

Lastly, someone asked about baseballs ... YES they are provided.

Dallas and OK State events are filling quickly.

Speaking of home runs, two of the longest balls I have ever seen hit by a high school player took place at OK State with one skipping off the top of third base side grand stands on the softball field and the other one hit one of the houses out past right field (across the street)! I think I went to get those during those games because I didn't believe how far they went.
