Yes, Colton Cain did pitch and took the loss. He allowed 2 solo shots and 1 unearned run. He was solid, but struggled a bit w/ location.

Wax couldn't touch Turley. They barely got the ball out of the infield.

I sat among the many scouts in attendance. Cain was being clocked consistently at 91 mph, saw one high of 93. Turley was at about 88 most of the night.

As a totally neutrual observer, was amazed at the zone. Both pitchers were getting calls way off the plate (Sat directly behind the plate). These guys are good enough without that kind of help.

After watching my son for four years, I guess I have come to grips with the good ole high school strike...two ball widths off the plate...unfortunately it is just the way it is .

Good job by both arms. Looking forward to watching Josh do this next year in the green & gold.
It was a good game and yes its truly unfair to call strikes like that when guys like that are on the mound. It basically takes the game away from hitters. I would rather it see umpired legitimately. Umpires that put imprints on games are not my favorites.

Also, does anyone know if Heathcock is healthy and will pitch this weekend? I know he had a grades issue but was back last night, I also was told he was hurt at one point in time and couldn't pitch.
