I was told that this was the place to find all answers to baseball questions. Can you play on more that one team, jv and varsity, at the high school level? Son is a freshman on varsity but only gets in when one kid pitches. Not a whole lot of playing time so he's thinking of asking the coach to play jv games when the other kid is not pitching. I'm thinking there's a rule about that but since he's my first and only, I'm not sure.

In Texas, you can play on all 3 teams, but you can only play in a limited number of games, I think it is 24 in the regular season. My son's old HS team had players on occasion that played in the JV game and then changed uniforms and dressed for the varsity. Usually they were used sparingly.

My son played in 8 games on varsity his sophmore year and then moved back to JV to get more playing time. He had to sit out a few of their games at the end of the season.
