DPATs wreckin' shop, as usual. Bring it home boys! Good players (+) good coaching.

We watched the MSL and Bellaire teams in AZ, not sure if they are the same group of players, or not. Really a shame they struggled in pool play. But, not the first Texas teams to "O-fer" in these big-boy tournaments, not score any runs, etc. Hopefully their kids showed well in front of the right people, regardless of score.

DPats won pool going 4-0 scoring 35 and allowing only 4. No seeding was used..rather predetermined pool matchups. DP drew Team Mizuno in the round of 16 and their pitcher (Jose Hernandez..I think) was on. He hit 97 and cruised at 94-96 with a nasty slider throwing a 2 hitter and walking none for the win. Team Mizuno did go on to reach the semis last night...quality ball club for sure. Overall this event is everythng promised from a scouting, visibility and competition perspective.

Was a pleasure to see that dpat was able to hang in these fall "big boy tournaments" they really struggled back in July against the real "big boys"

Chief,

There aren't many boys from back in July bigger or better than the team that beat the Patriots. Believe me, they are the very "real" big boys and hundreds of scouts will agree. Still they didn't make it to the championship game.

BTW, there are some players on that Patriot team that are among the very best in the country. Those that don't know that now will find out later.

This is not one of "these fall "big boy tournaments"... This is the biggest scoutinng attraction in the history of baseball. One only needs to be there in order to know that.

In an interview there was this comment from Roy Clark, assistant general manager and vice president of player personnel for the Washington Nationals:
“This is just a tremendous tournament, outstanding talent. Even the West Coast colleges are here. It’s known in the scouting ranks as the No. 1 tournament in amateur baseball.”

Note: Until this year Roy Clark was the Scouting Director for the Atlanta Braves.

Not sure what is estimated at some 900 college coaches and MLB scouts are watching for, if these are not the "real" big boys?
Been there, done that, and got a T-shirt. It's not a bad tournament, but just like any tournament of that size you have to take the good with the bad and there is alot of bad and not so many good. I will agree that usually the good are real good, you just have to wade through alot to get to them. Game for game it does not compare to a Connie Mack type World Series. And yes I have been to both several times. Thank you.

They are completely different events with a different purpose. Some of the same teams, some average teams, many of the same players, in both. A much larger percentage of the best players would obviously be in the bigger event.

9,000 at the Aflac Game too, and "millions more watching on national television. Still, 10 times more scouts and college coaches at Jupiter.

(IMO)

Connie Mack is the best at what they do.

Aflac is the best at what they do.

WWBA in Jupiter is the best at what they do. That would be drawing by far the most scouting attention.

My problem is about the "Real Big Boys" thing that was mentioned. Can't there be more than one place for those big boys?
Chief

All one has to do is read your profile to see that a 'fool"is posting

I was not at Jupiter this year, not too happy about that, but Jupiter is the best EVENT of the year---I say EVENT because that is what it is--I have said this before and will say it now it is much like WOODSTOCK interms of its aura and its results for the players. YOU GEt NOTICED IF YOU ARE GOOD !!!!

By the way your statement "9000 scouts" is totally ludicrous.
