DALLAS BASEBALL ALLIANCE HOSTS TEXAS vs. THE WORLD 2.0 19U INTERNATIONAL BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Dallas, TX— The Dallas Baseball Alliance and its partner organizations will host the 2010 Texas vs. The World 2.0 19U International Baseball Championship (formerly Texas vs. Puerto Rico) October 28-31, 2010 at participating high schools in Dallas, Highland Park, Mansfield and Plano. The tournament culminates in a championship game on October 31 at 6 p.m. The championship game will be played in the comfy confines of Quik Trip Park, home of the Grand Prairie Air Hogs professional baseball team. Last year’s game featured quality players such as AFLAC All American Brian Ragira whom has signed with Stanford University.
Participating teams include the Southwest All Stars (Mansfield/Arlington Martin), Plano HS, Dallas ISD Stars, EPSA Georgia Cobras, Texans, Highland Park, Plano West, Texas Ascension and Texas Sports Elite and the Caribbean Stars, which consists of players from Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

Coach Karl Brooks, head baseball coach of the EPSA Georgia Cobras says, “We look forward to giving our players an opportunity to showcase their talent in Texas, a state renowned for the quality of athletes it produces.”
Fans will be treated to nearly 20 action-packed games over a four day period. Teams will play two 7-inning games followed by a single elimination tournament format. Admission is $5.00 per event except for doubleheaders which are only $5.00. Proceeds benefit the Oak Cliff YMCA, Journey of a Young Lady and the Science & Math program at Duncanville’s Reed Middle School.

Trophies will be awarded to champions and in conjunction with the tournament; a home run derby will take place October 31 at approximately 3:30 p.m. at Quik Trip Park. This competition is open to the public with a cost of $25 per player and a grand prize of $200 to be awarded.
