2019 finished his high school career last night in a tough loss. He had a stellar career at two high schools in MO and SC. He was All-State and All-Region all four years.  He was Region Player of the Year last two years and player of the year last year. He finished his career with a .294 ERA which is tied for third all-time in high school baseball nationally. He tied the National and State Record by having an .000 era his sophomore year. He set several Missouri state records with his team and numerous school records.. He ended with 424 strikeouts in 238 1/3 innings and only 56 walks. He was a part of three district championships in two states. He still has a North/South Select All Star event and then on to college this summer.  Thanks to so many on here for being a part of the journey.  I have been on here for nearly 15 years and have received and given advice.  This site has been instrumental in our journey if for nothing else than a release on bad days to get me by.  If you are the parent of a younger player, don't take this site for granted.  You may not always like what you hear but the people on here, as a whole, are here for each other.  We will move on to another part of the journey that I will have even less control over.  Thanks again.

Only one team ends with a win in the last game. My son ended every year with a loss.

Your son had a heck of a high school career, and he's a good kid! He'll do well at the next level, and you'll adapt to the other part of the journey. It hasn't been as hard adapting as I thought it would be. In fact, I enjoy showing up to the game 5 minutes before it starts, and waiting around 30-45 minutes after the game until they've groomed the field just to talk to him for a few minutes. You'll adapt brother. Good luck to him at his next stop and to your whole family!

Quite an accomplishment, something you, your family, and especially him should be proud of.  It's one thing to have a fantastic year (rightly so) but to do it all 4 years shows consistency and talent.  I have little doubt he will continue to have success at UT and if it's in his destiny we can look forward to hearing his name called on day 1 of the draft in 3 years (unless it's this June).  Congrats

24Fan, this is SO true.  I was finally able to see my 2017 play college ball for the first time this past weekend and I couldn't believe how different the experience was.  I was so much more relaxed knowing he's at a school he loves and getting to play baseball at the same time.  No HS politics-real or imagined-to fear.  Talking to a man after the games.  Taking him to dinner and watching him eat like he hadn't been fed in a week.  Meeting his teammates and their parents, many of whom, because we live so far away, have hosted him during school breaks.  Meeting his new coach who talked about how much fun he was to coach.  Whole new family waiting to greet you out there.  Congrats, and best of luck!

Wow.  Your son is a pitching stud!  At first I thought you had transposed ERA with BA.  That is ridiculous.  Love his strikeout to walk ratio.   The SEC is a great test of his tremendous talents.  Good luck!
