Thanks RHP05parent for your help. I've had several calls from D1 schools. Several of them have not called back. I attended camp a few weeks ago at one of the D1 schools. I am attending camp for the next couple of days at another D1 school. The recruting coach requested that I come to this camp so the head coach could see me. This is a school that I am very interested in. The recruting coach saw me pitch a couple of weeks ago at a big tournament. Do you have any suggestions for me as I attend this camp? I don't know alot about the recruiting process and that I should market myself. I did call coaches back. I was told to call coaches back even if they did leave a message on your recorder. Any suggestions you could give me would be great. Thanks again for your help.

I'll be glad to give you all the help I can. Hopefully others will join in, as it's always best to get several points of view, then choose the action that feels right for you.

When attending a camp, there are some standard things I suggest you do, like: Make sure you are well-rested; Arrive EARLY; Dress like a ball player- no un-tucked shirts, hats backward etc.; Hustle always; Be attentive to the coach (no side chatting while he's talking); Do your best on every play; Show no negative emotion on a bad play or at bat; if a camp shirt is not provided, wear a shirt WITH YOUR NAME on the back!

From a marketing point of view: Know as much as you can about the school, the coaches & their previous season (check school site for pictures so you can recognize the coaches); BE PERSONABLE - make a point to introduce yourself to all the coaches at the camp (ex: Hi, I'm ____ from ____ HS where I play (position); When camp time permits: talk with the coaches and ask specific questions about their program; let them know how serious your interest is in their school;

These are just a few things that come to mind. Any others folks?
