I just wanted to come on to say thanks for all of the help over the last four years. My son committed last week to pitch for a D1. Funny how things work out. This is never where we thought he would end up. This coach had been interested in him since spring. My son kept saying no, that is not where I want to go. He went through summer and had some interest and in the end had about 5 offers. We visited all of the schools including the school that he would NEVER go to. Swampboy and TPM gave us the best questions to ask to see who is really interested. What do you know about me and what do you like most about me. All the coaches gave a few minutes to this except this one coach who seemed to know everything about him. He also had been to almost every one of his starts ( we never saw him). He went on and on and not only made my son feel like he was wanted, but the coach said he was needed, and made an incredible offer that backed up his words. So in the end he chose to go where he is loved and go to the school he would never go to. Lol He is going to get an education, with no loans and it looks like starting his freshman year. This really is a great site with such valuable information and great insight from some great people. So again thank you for getting us through I think one of the more stressful but rewarding few years of my son's life. I've actually learned a thing or two in the process, so hopefully I can be of help to someone else. I look forward to enjoying his senior year and watching that first college start. I'm sure I'll be back with many more questions.

Congrats....and good luck!! My son committed to a school who had not contacted him at all before they called him on July 1st. He committed 3 weeks later...and is very happy with his choice. Funny how sometimes the school you least expect is the place where your son ends up.
Very strange (or maybe not) how many of our stories are different but alike in many ways!
Good luck to your son and family!
Congrats baseballmomx4 and son!
You've brought up a great point for future recruits....never say never!
Wonderful news, congratulations - well deserved!
My son's story is quite similar! Congrats and so happy it all worked out! I always heard: "Go where you are loved!" Sounds like your son is!

Congratulations BaseballMomx4 & Buckeye 2015 (and sons).
There are too many people on this site who are very kind & generous with advice, experience and who act as a sounding board to name them individually.
This board is heaven-sent for parents.
Thank you all very much.
Our 2015 son's story was similar in that the D1 school he committed to was not on his radar at all until the coach introduced himself at the end of July, coach was very enthusiastic & high on him, we visited & he made a really great offer with a chance to play (has to perform of course),
knows the game, is a Good guy from all accounts (a strong factor for our son) and has since committed & offered several very good pitchers & players.
2015, Mom & I are excited about their prospects and to watch good baseball for a few more years.
People have quoted that just 5.6% of HS baseball players get to play at any level in college,
it is an achievement to be proud of for your son to be one of them.
Congratulations to those who have committed and
Best of Luck to all the other players and parents here.
Congrats. It's funny how things mostly work out in this process. This site is an amazing
resource for those who have never been through the process.
Enjoy his senior year and get ready for a whole new level of baseball.

You are right, too many people to thank individually. This site became my daily reading. I think I have gotten advice or some valuable information from everyone even if it wasn't in response to me. Reading other people's posts and the responses they got helped.

The same thing happened with our son. He got invited for a visit last fall to a school that was not on his top list and he was blown away. They offered him a great opportunity that he could not turn down. they say good things happen when your least expecting. Its so true. Congrats and Good Luck and Enjoy his senior year.
BBMX4,
Congrats to your son and best wishes to your whole family.
Please keep us posted as your son moves forward.
Congrats!
The real work begins today
Baseballmom,
AWESOME!!!
I am so glad that you asked those questions! It gave us real insight as to who had been really watching and who wasn't.
Some coaches are better recruiters than others but IMO you still can tell who is genuinely interested in your player to be a contributor and who is looking for an extra arm or bat.
Enjoy your sons last HS season!
Baseballmom, that is great news. Good luck to your son on the next step of his journey. Please keep us posted on how he does.
