A few months ago I made a post asking for advice about what to do to help my then 14 (now 15) year old son move up from rec. ball to high school and travel baseball. I wanted to thank everyone for their posts, emails, and encouragement.

After a lot of practice and hard work (all initiated by my son), he made the freshman baseball team at his high school this spring. I know it's a small step, but for Mom and Dad, it's a big deal.

It does truely need to come from your son from this point on.

Now that is a true statement - I rarely get the opportunity to even throw with my son now adays - which is probably good because as his strength improves my eyesight gets worse (not a good combination.

One piece of advice that I ignored from this sight my sons frosh year was sit somewhere down the lines and stay away from all the "chit chat". I now have a special spot that allows me just to watch the game.

Congrats to your son!!!!!!

High fives,...air push ups,..and a couple of hearty pats on the back to your son!
