Both my son and my daughter are going to be going to college to continue their athletic careers. We are as one of my poster friends said, "lucky and blessed".
I and my family owe this site and all the wonderful and colorful characters on it so much thanks for the information, the encouragement, and the empathy (and yes, sometimes sympathy!!). The baseball advice translates to volleyball in most respects, and I feel fortunate (even with all the bumps along the road) that my family has had these experiences. You can't appreciate the thrill without feeling the despairs along the way.
All of you new readers, it can be done! You just have to have the courage and faith in yourself to put yourself out there. Somewhere - there is a place for you to play and get your education.
But be aware it is going to take an incredible amount of time, energy and work to make this happen. Don't give up!
