The best books out there for head varisty coaches??

I am looking for books that would be very helpful for a varsity head coach just starting?? I have coached many years as an asst varsity or JV coach, but never a head varsity coach. What books would you recommend for me that talk specifically about how to run a HS program??

To me...it starts and ends with Ron Polk's book.

agreed. The "Baseball Playbook" by Polk has more than everything you could thing of..

Go watch a (or several) college teams practice... you'll get far more out of that than the books (in my opinion)

Amen to this. I have two or three shelves full of books and videos and they were all helpful to some degree. I watched a couple of college practices and I was able to learn more and implement more from that than anything.
