One night I had a vivid dream, in which I arose from my bed. Walked outdoors in the dark and there I discovered a single gravestone. I learned forward I found my name, date of my birth,
The dream scared me. Talked with my "shrink". He said what does it mean to you?

I said, it was like the monuments at Yankee Stadium.

"Then I stopped and cried" Oh!, Oh! it was now clear.

MY DREAMS OF BECOMING A MAJOR LEAGUE BALLPLAYER HAVE DIED AT LAST.

This was an except from Roger Angell great book "Game Time".
