Good Article by Keep Playing Baseball

I like Keep Playing Baseball, and I'm glad CBI is helping them. This article has some useful data in it.
The one thing I don't like about KPB is that they are often too vague. For example, I followed their link to the page about doing roster research. I've done a lot of roster research, there are definitely websites that are important to know about. For example, it says that you should look at the numbers of committed players. It does not say that the best place to do that is on PG's website. That's something that people need to know. I guess it could come across as being an endorsement, but if you're trying to help people, you do have to tell them where to look. I see they are not shy about sending people to CBI

Different situation.
KPB is vague because information is very bad and decentralized.
Remember the information on PG is self maintained, and there is a disclaimer about their accuracy.
PG is mainly NCAA-D1 bragging rights. There is limited information for the other divisions.
JUCO's are even worse.
From a player commitment perspective, who has the truth Fieldlevel, Five tools, Baseball Factory, PBR, Travel Academy websites, etc.
Many points of failure
Secondly a verbal commit is similar to put in an job application with indeed, most will change, the real information is the NIL.
Note, we've been in conversation with KPB since 2018, no strings attached. Now that KPB can analysis very accurate data, which will allow them to produce very specific and detailed content.
Note, based on our review depending on the division/conference the accuracy and completeness of roster data is between 70 and 85 percent complete.
Bad information and bad analysis can lead to bad decisions.
Remember, not all information is the same, public data is very messy, PG has a different objective.
I don't disagree at all about PG, I don't think people lie about commitments, so I don't think it's solely "bragging". My point is that if you don't know anything about baseball recruiting, and you don't have reliable advisors who can tell you this stuff, you need to be sent somewhere to find information. PBR is no more comprehensive than PG for non-D1, and is somewhat harder to use. I couldn't find databases of commitments on the other sites you list (but I didn't try very hard). Some of them (travel academy websites, Baseball Factory) only list commitments of their players.
Regardless, everyone will have a preferred way of finding data - the best thing is to link various options, so the people know where they might go. Even better would be to offer comments about each option, like the ones you just gave about PG.
Certainly verbal commitments change. But if you're trying to figure out a program and how it recruits, that can be all you have. Obviously a very informative thing is to compare the list of commitments on PG with the list of freshmen the following year.
That's why I said that I like KPB, but I found them less directly useful than I would have hoped for a non-profit site.
Of course, a person can ask for advice on HSBBW and get lots of information and opinions! But only if you find this site first.

Again, PG is most focusing on the HS cohort that have attended their showcases and tournaments and that is very incomplete, verbal commit data falls way short. If that is the case, then one must look at who truly comes on campus in the fall, thus include (walkon, players that attended other showcase organization, academies, juco transfers, 4 yr transfers, etc).
As the article outlines, 4 year schools have increased their recruitment of JUCO Player
As for how a program recruits, you will not get that from PG. The commit database is for pure marketing purposes to get you to the next showcase or tournament
Being a Non-profit or profit will not change the issue of what somebody is trying to convey based on the information available.
Note, KPB and HSBBW are 2 different approaches, one is a website overview of the process whereas the other is a community.
I would say KPB and DYICollegerankings use similar approaches (broad overview of the process and journey)
Note, with respects to specific schools and specific approaches an engaged community like HSBBW will always be better
