I have seen that a lot of good curveball pitchers(Rich Hill, Barry Zito,...) use a high fastball rather than low ones, because of the release point of the pitches. I consider my curveball to be my best pitch and have noticed that when I do down in the zone, I get hit alot more. Not hard but ground balls. Should I just keep with the ground balls or would elevating the fastball help with my strikeouts. I only ask because my shortstop and 2nd baseman are sophomores and have 45 errors in 34 games between them. Thanks for any input.

Know when to throw your pitches.

An example. You throw your curveball low and inside for a strike. 0-1. You can either double up on it (depending if they took, or swung and missed, or swung and fouled it off), or you can throw a fastball. You'd want to throw it either high and in or high and away (but still for a strike) because you're changing speeds (from slow to fast) and their eye level (low to high)
