Soooooo. the White Sox are the victim of the playoff's and World series most damaging bad call.

Buck and McCarver conveniently drop any mention of it after the initial discovery that ol' Angel missed another one. This, as opposed to the never ending A.J.P. dropped 3rd and Dye HBP incidents. National Leaguer bias?..No doubt about these 2.

The game was extended only because of that call. No Geof Blum heroics would have been necessary.

Did the Sox wine? Not a word was mentioned in the postgame. These guys just flat get the job done.

7 in a row. 10 of 11 in the playoff's. 15 of the last 16. If the Yankees were doing this they would be compared to the greatest teams ever!

One more and you can put this team with any in history.

After the Astros HR by Lane, I say we call this “ump call” thing even. Roll Eyes There is not doubt that this call had a direct impact on the out come of the game. The game would not have gone into extra innings. Interesting how silent Buck and McCarver got regarding the HR once the TV slow-mo instant replay showed that the HR was a fair and would have been at best a double. pull_hair At first I thought that it was a result of the roof being open, maybe the sun was in the umps eyes. Wink

Regardless, instant replay would still ruin the game!!!!

I don't think the issue has become "whos gotten the most calls", I think the issue is "who's making these calls?". The ump who made the homerun call was waving his arm over his head with such emotion I thought it was some sort of orgassmic experience. Then the re-play comes on and anyone with half a brain would say "that was really close, how can he be so sure".

Why didn't he let it play out then ask his "team" if they saw something different?

Have umpires at that level become so involved with themselves that they forget about that third team on the field?
