Welcome Baseballdownsouth greenjump
Sure hope you enjoy it here in the Ladies Lounge! It's a calming respite from some of the commotion on the main threads, with some of the nicest ladies around. Who wouldn't like other Moms who love to talk about the five best things on earth:
1. Our kids - and how cute/great/talented they are -- bragging is encouraged here!
2. Baseball
3. Coach purses
4. Our spouses, ex-spouses or sig others (and even a cute MLB player or two.. Big Grin)
5. How cute/great/talented, etc. all the other LL mom's kids are!!

P.S. Love where you're from!

Ok Ladies,
I like to share the love, too. I want to "brag" for URKMB. Since she hasn't shared this story, I will!

Down for the Brea Christmas Classic in Southern California, a couple days before Christmas, her son's team is in the Championship game of the Elite Division. They are 4 and 0, I think.

Blue's son (Nick) had pitched on Sunday and won, this was Tuesday...Championship game, the pitcher that had been the closer during the previous games was the starter this time. He had pitched lights out but this was the bottom of the 7th and he was in a little trouble.
2 outs, runners on 1st and 3rd, with Blue's team up 2 to 1. The opposing teams fans are chirping like no tomorrow.

Nick comes in the game and strikes the batter out. Game over! What a way to finish the game and tournament. What an exciting ride home to the Bay area for Blue and Nick. You just can't ask for a better finish.

Congratulations to Nick and what a great way to start his Senior Season!!!
party

Keep the bragging coming folks. I love to hear of others successes. This is the place where we can talk about these things and everyone understands.

And Blue, I haven't taken my bracelet off!! It goes well with my Tiffany heart!

I guess this is considered a success and/or achievement...at least I am hoping it will turn into one: clap

My son was given permission to throw yesterday! He said it felt weird after his surgery in September...tight is the word he used to describe his motion. Threw at a wall and was able to hit targets from a relatively short distance.

He has been working with Chris Carpenter, who played for my brother and is now with the Cardinals. He has been through 2 surgeries and is rehabbing at Saint A's. When he first threw after the 1st shoulder procedure he said his ball went straight into the ground 2 feet in front of him...very disappointing.

We'll see how he comes along. At this point our wish is just to have him be able to cross the line, take the ball on the mound and record a few outs for his team...that would be nice.

And thanks, Catch, for filling us in on Blue's son Nick.... laola Well done!
