Guess hitters will always be looking for pitch in some specific area. Plate coverage can hugely depend on count.

Reminds me of Dave Kingman's swing.
I think this all depends on the pitcher and where he throws, and what the count is. If you're ahead in the count then you want something in your hitting zone. If you're behind, you would anticipate a pitch to where the pitcher likes to throw.

It seems to me that "look-away-adjust in" is about the same as "look for off speed-adjust to fast ball." If you're looking away, the inside fastball will be pretty tough to catch up to. I agree with bbscout...look middle and make a small adjustment in or out.
