The Olympics and Reality

Imagine if you had to Train four years for one at-bat, or throw to one hitter, and that outcome determined your fate in the Sport?? Fail, no problem go to work for another four years, come back and give it another shot!

I am amazed at the competitive spirit (not yours iitg, no offense).

Broken legs, broken backs, broken ankles, yet they still come back to compete for a shot at a medal, now that's inspiring!

So, IITG, I guess you don't want to come over and tryout my backyard ski jump....

From an Olympic standpoint this is true. But these athletes also compete on the World Cup circuit all season, every year. While the casual fan only knows them from the Olympics, all the Olympic skiers are well known by skiing fans. They all do very well financially. The Olympics are the Big Kahuna of publicity and endorsement possibilities.

Oops! Just saw a speed skater guy from The Netherlands finish way ahead of everyone else, only to be disqualified for being in the wrong lane. Poor fella lost a gold medal.

Must be nice for you guys on the east coast. We won't get to see any of the things your talking about until about 3 hours after you get to see them.

I see the problem now, we are on the west coast and the events are on the -------------west coast, makes sense to me.

We get to see them about 8-10 hours after they happen. I guess we are to to far away from the events.
