I just stumbled across this article. Formerly known as the Aflac All-American Classic this is the ultimate honor for high school baseball players. This show on Wednesday on the CBS Sports Network will introduce this year's players. More info at this link. The game will be played August 14.

I know sponsors come and go, but I wish it coulda kept its previous sponsor and name (AFLAC)...kind of like the McDonald's All American basketball game(s).

People were getting to know what it meant being an AFLAC All American. On that count, gotta start over...sorta...I guess?

I think anyone watching the very first selection show Wednesday Night will get an idea of what it means to this year's All Americans. We think everyone is going to see an actual upgrade from previous years.

How s the selection made? Does the player have to be recommended?

Selections are based on talent. The only thing that's important is that we know the player and think he is one of the very best prospects in the country. Players can be recommended, but it's not necessary unless we don't know the player being recommended.
