My question is to all H.S.Coaches about team players. Do you want players that will come up to you and ask to play positions or want to take the mound ect. Lets say you had a player that could hit, run, play any possible position and would not make you nervous putting him in that spot. Lets just say this kid sometimes breaks out of his shell and justs tears the game up. He is (quiet) does not say much and plays where he is told. Even if that is playing the bench. What advice would you have for a player that has great skills and has big dreams of playing Div 1 baseball loves the game but is not overly aggressive. (I must add this) He works out all the time he is superfast, has a strong arm and a great bat, but never gets the credit he is due. What are the key ingredients, a scout looks for in a player at these area code and showcases that a Dad should tell his son.

If a player has talent he will get notice even if he is quiet. Make sure he makes the most of all his practices no matter what he is doing if he has the skills to start he will get notice...

We had a kid that never spoke. He just went and did what he was told and before long we knew he was a player... I have seen him come off the mound after pitching a great game and then come off after a tough day and you could not tell a difference in what he just did.. Some kids are just wired different dont worry about speaking up if he is a player they will give him a chance.

Good Luck
