Quick story...son is back hitting this season in addition to pitching.  Got hsi first start at DH last Sunday....2-3 and a walk.  Got his second shot at DH on Friday...started 3-3, 2 doubles and 4 RBI...all in the first 4 innings...then came on in relief in the 7th,  3IP, 5K's, 1H and the save....maybe his best day yet as a college player.   His last 2 AB's were K's looking....which I kind of gave him a pass on...thinking the combo of pitching/hitting may have had him a little out of whack since it's the first time he's done it in 3 years.  The fact that the opposing pitcher gave him nothing but curveballs the last 2 AB's may have had something to do with it lol

Yesterday...1st AB...K looking....2nd AB....K looking.....3rd AB.....K swinging.....keep in mind this is a kid that struck out twice in 100 plate appearances as a senior in HS which was the last season he had any real amount of AB's.   Also, those opposing pitchers are smart   They seem to have noticed his lack of ability to hit the curve lol.     Last AB....weak grounder to 2B.    He texted me afterwards and said "dang, those curveballs have me so messed up"

I'm sure he'll be fine...but it's just crazy how a kid (and parent) can go from the high of having what was probably his best game ever....to yesterday's debacle....all in less than 24 hours.

That being said.....it's baseball season, the weather is warming up.....life is good again!!   Enjoy the season folks!!!
