I am not uneducated in the ways of college scouts coming to see a player. My oldest signed in November to play college ball. Here is my concern. My youngest son is a Freshman in high scool with a January birthday. He just turned 15. Granted he is just shy of 6'3 and weighs 205. He is a RHP , plays infield and bats 5th in the line-up. He is playing both Varsity and JV ball for his team. Enough data. Last week we were introduced to two college coaches that had come to watch a JV game. I have Never heard of this. My son was pitching, guns were out and coaches/scouts were talking to the varsity coach almost the whole game. My oldest is a catcher so they did not come and watch him until summer before his Jr. year through summer before his Senior year. Is coming this early to watch a freshman normal?

allaboutbaseball - I'm sure there are people with more knowledgeable answers than I. However, I've known numerous kids that have been drafted, including two first rounders. I've never seen scouts coming to see someone when they are a freshman! I think it's highly unusual and must say something very good about your son!!!!

Montana

I might be movin' to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a crop of Dental Floss Raisin' it up
Waxen it down
In a little white box
I can sell uptown
By myself I wouldn't
Have no boss,
But I'd be raisin' my lonely Dental Floss
Raisin' my lonely Dental Floss
Well I just might grow me some bees
But I'd leave the sweet stuff
For somebody else...
but then, on the other hand
I'd Keep the wax N' melt it down
Pluck some Floss N' swish it aroun'
I'd have me a crop
An' it'd be on top

That's why I'm movin' to Montana!

They don't call it " Big Floss in the Sky Country" for nuthin'!
