There's a couple of threads going right now focusing on some negative things, many of which I heard at a Triple Crown tournament in Arizona last weekend. A few of our parents got to talking around the hotel pool about sportsmanship and boorish parents after our first day of games. The combination of these threads and my experiences last weekend got me thinking, what are some really cool things you've heard at games from opposing fans, parents, coaches etc?

Since I keep the book, I tend to sit low and nearest homeplate which frequently puts me very close to the opponent fans. It's my habit to say "nice pick, catcher" when their kid makes a nice stop behind the plate and contains the play.

I find that sometimes a few parents on the other side will react in kind. It won't necessarily ever win over the fans who think they have to win the game from the stands as well as the field, but it makes me feel better about things.

Third base coach from a Conn Summer team while in the coaching box:

"that was a christmas present, thats right I said it."

" you've got the force, you are a jeti knight, spilt the ball with your light saber."

It was a pure comedy show during the game, he was so funny we came earlier the next day to watch their game.

he had a ton of funny great one liners

Depends on which sport your kid is playing. IN Football I usually hear " was that the QB that just made that tackle" or "kicked the extra point" the rest is really not able to be put on a public forum. If it is baseball I hear "This guy pounds the zone so you better be swinging" or " i don't think we will be stealing much today with the human wall with a cannon sticking out of it" In all cases he is usually the punching bag for the opposing teams fans, so I am thankful for thick skin!
