TheJdubJunx,

It sounds like it's time for you to see an orthopedist who is familiar with throwing injuries. A cracking sound in the shoulder could be a symptom of some serious injuries that require rest, therapy, or possible surgery to continue being able to throw.

Any of us can only guess about the injury, but one possibility is a torn labrum. See a specialist soon if you are serious about being able to continue to throw! Good luck, and let us know.

Have you been to a doctor? If not, you should.

How old are you?

Do you have a clip of yourself throwing?

I agree that he needs to see a doctor. That's why I said he should.

However, the root cause of the problem could be be related to his mechanics. Going to see a doctor will only deal with the symptoms, not the root cause of the problem.

If you were 38 like me then I'd say it's probably due to aging.

However, for a 16 year-old to be experiencing this is a bad sign. There could be something seriously wrong with your shoulder (and the fact that it goes away over time doesn't mean anything).

YOU NEED TO GO SEE A DOCTOR.
All the trainers at my school are pretty much full of ****. The one at my school is never in his office, and he makes up stupid explanations. If you go in with a sore wrist, he will say show me how you throw, and even if it's perfect, he will say, kids these days don't even know how to throw a baseball. HE is that way with all the sports, makes it sound like they have no idea what they are doing. Sometimes he is right, but a lot of times he is wrong.

Forgot to add one thing, I injured my knee the other day, and he says show me how you run, and I did, and he was like, you don't run right. It's just a sore muscle. I didn't even hurt it running, it was sliding, and it turned out that I actually had a partiallly torn ACL. SHows how much he knows.
