Here is another, same game.  Batter in first inning, is warned for throwing the bat.  Later in the game, the PU calls the batter out for throwing the bat.   Now the trown bat (both times) was not in anger.. but was thrown after the swing as the batter left the box to advance to 1st.

I looked everywhere in the rulebook and can not find any reference to an out for a thrown bat.

Help?

That's a pretty standard youth rule.

They have to learn at a young age not to throw the bat.  It's dangerous.

Calling the kid out is better than the other recourse the umpire would have, which is to just eject the player.

My 16 yo son umpires a lot of t-ball and coach pitch games.  The league rule for him is to give a bench warning after the first thrown bat, and then call the batter out on every subsequent thrown bat.

New Umpire:  Read NFHS Rule 3.1  If you gave a WRITTEN warning for an UNintentionally (accidentally) thrown bat in the first inning.  Then the next time ANYONE on his team does it you eject the player.  Since they are minors, you are technically restricting them to the dugout unless their parents are present in which case the coach may choose to remit them to the custody of their parents.
