I received this appeal (see below) from a parent on Cox's team and thought it was a great cause that everyone might want to help out with. If interested, you can drop off your donated items at Cox's baseball field or, better yet, deliver them directly to Norview MS Smile

"Good morning:
I am hoping that Cox baseball can help my daughter continue to make a difference in the lives of young children. My daughter, Erin Sagedy, is a middle school teacher at Norview Middle School in Norfolk. Norview is a demographically challenged school. Erin is very committed to the school and more importantly to the children at the school.
The school is trying to start up a baseball team after several years of not having a team. Erin said that there are a lot of boys that want to play but do not have any equipment nor the means to purchase that equipment. At practice yesterday, they had to throw underhand because so few of the boys had gloves. We have all heard, read or experienced the fact that baseball is a dying sport in urban areas. We have the opportunity to change that for a few boys.
Erin asked me to ask the Cox team to see if we could help. If you would like to and can help, please bring any middle school size gloves, bats, baseball shoes (no metal spikes please), to the session on Saturday and give it to Brian. These boys will be thrilled with anything that we can provide.
I went into our shed last night and to my surprise found 3 decent gloves that we probably would not use again. Please look around. You might be surprised what you find.
On behalf of the boys who really need the equipment, thank you in advance for your generosity. Cox baseball can bring a smile to a young boy's face."

Best Regards,
Brian Sagedy
