I know there was alot of scrimmages out there today. How did everyone look?

Grassfield Played bayside. It was 15+ to 2 (10 innings). Cody Cox and J Miller each with a HR.
Salem plays indian river monday.
Cox beat Western Branch something like 4-0
Hanover beat FC...not sure of the score, but the Mayers brothers both had HR's

i herd western branch went young.
When you graduate just about your entire starting lineup from last year, you don't have much choice. They'll be fine after a few varsity games under their belt. They definitely have some talent. Both the 2b and the 3b made some nice defensive plays
well i herd a couple of the seniors were mad.
WB cut 3 seniors from the Pony & Colt World Series teams to keep Freshmen.
2b & 3b were also on that Colt World Series team.
I think if they finish 6th in district they will have over achieved.

why in the world would that happen?
How did Great Bridge and Kellam turn-out?GF,how are those 90mph pitchers doing,at Grassfield?How did FC do against Granby,anything special show for FC in the 6th hole?Certainly you have to remember these are scrimmages?I would have thought Cox would have done a better job of putting points on the board against freshman,for Cox to be considered number one out of the beach?This should be a close year until Menchville shows,according to them?
Ocean Lakes pretty much handled Hickory on Saturday. Not sure of the score but there were quite a few runs scored.

Perhaps the frosh are better? I know several programs in Tidewater that should and could do the same but don't have the courage to do so.
One of the WB frosh should contribute heavily.

I think "handled" is pretty misleading. It seemed a lot more even than you make it sound. I guess we will see as the season unfolds.

Thanks DC - i wasnt sure if he pitched a 4th inning, so i left that out.
Also, a Bayside player told me they played NR and lost by 1 run.
I talked with a NR parent he said they beat them pretty good.

I know one of the frosh as a player. He is VERY good and has a very solid chance to play at the next level. I can't imagine RW would cut a senior who would play in college.

i am picking nansemond river.yes i think ir will be pretty good.but i think picking up jordan long from wb will fill there weakness behind the plate.the catchers they had last yr. are young.And as far as IR they may have lost there no.3 pitcher and c from last yr.he would be more of a loss on the mound.because we have a not much different backup catcher.I dont have much update on IR cf status as of now but he pulled a hamstring Friday.
But will Jordan Long be behind the plate or in the OF? Guess we will learn on Wednesday.
i will be suprised if Jordan long isnt behind the dish.wb had some catchers.nr had young catchers.

I take it your son is one of the older kids who is no longer part of the WB program. Great place for you to come and bash not only the coach but a couple of talented freshmen. Pretty classy on your part.
