These stats don't add up, how did 5 runs score on 4 singles and 2 walks? And how did 8 players get hits when 2 players got 6 out of the 11?

You are correct. It was 7 players who had hits. (Won't let the spouse count it up next time.) But as to the 5 runs scoring on 4 singles and 2 walks, that is easy. Errors. Lakeland had at most 1 ER in the game.

Cody Cox pitched a great game; and against arguably some of the top hitters (Keaton, Long, Rivers) in the conference - held them to 2 hits (one of them was keaton's HR in the first) at 9 AB's. Offensively he added another hit and SB - I believe he is leading the team in BA. Other offensive contributors were lead off hitter Nykolai Ellis'(FR) (2 for 4) stand up double off keaton in the first, Jason Ingram 2 for 3 (with sac fly), and Rian Ellis 1 for 2 with 2BB and 3SB.

I am amazed with the Talent that NR has that they are 0 and 6.
To tell "the REST of the story"...

After th 18 hit barrage on Monday vs WB, IR put together 14 hits in 5 innings vs DC.

Besides Shock's 2nd HR, Lance Alley (the only Brave from last year's States team to get recognized as All-Tidewater) finished 3-4 with a double & 2 RBI. He is 12-for-18 (.667) through 6 games with 11 runs & 8 RBI out of the leadoff spot.

Sophomore Leland Clemmons & Junior Josh Carter were a combined 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 walks, 5 runs, & 3 RBI. Carter made a beautiful back-handed play to end the game as well.
