I would add John Liedig and David Lomberck,two heady catchers and power hitters.David is a senior at Granby and is truely D-1 quality in talent and grades.If there is someone reading ,his name should definitely be passed on.

I saw most of Granby's players this fall at the VWC Expo. I saw some good looking players for them - a lot of kids who can play at the D3 level. It appears Robbie is doing a good job over there.

I don't recall either of the players you mention, though.

Add:

1)Greg Abetz (NSU signee) Granby RH pitcher, huge frame at what I would guess to be 6'3'' 280. Saw the kid at regionals and was thoroughly impressed, heard he sits 84-85.

2)Eddie Butler (Radford signee)SS/P. Has a tremendous arm and ridiculous range up the middle. Seems to be in good hands over at GCA with Levelle.

3)Cory Hendricks (Atlantic Shores catcher- in my opinion, the best catcher in hampton roads-swings a monster bat, accompanied by solid fundamentals behind the plate and an above average arm. Caught word that he signed with a JUCO/NAIA. Not sure which, should do well.

3B/P Sean Roscoe and 1B/P Kyle Marshall at Lake Taylor HS swing monster bats...both were 1st team All Eastern District in 2008.

Dean Ali and matt dickason lead eastern region runner up indian river braves.

I would keep an eye on the trio of sophomores who helped Ocean Lakes as freshman win the Beach District and reach the Eastern Regional Semi-finals.

P - Sean Morimondo,C - Casey Bryant & SS - Alex Lambert

Two other off the radar players not mentioned are Cameron Day(OF) and Jeremy Sandifer(P,OF) of Landstown. That Landstown team has alot of young talent who were shadowed by Cameron Butler last year.

Another player on the Landstown team will be Kyle Lawhorn....and their is a pitcher at Kellam that played well in the playoffs last year....do not know his name.

Kellam pitcher is Jeff Difulgo...forgot to mention him earlier. He's a 2010.

Also forgot to metion Taylor Topping at Tallwood and Steve Whitmire at Kempsville also both class of 2010.

I would like to 2nd that statement about Cameron Day. I dont mean to put emphasis on any particular player for Landstown as I know there are many great players on the roster and quality men, but Cameron seems to be an incredible athlete, with speed and a tremendous build/physique.

Another player to compliment John Liedig's power at Catholic High is Josh Mason, 2011.(INF,P)
Also as to the before mentioned Taylor Topping of Tallwood. He is a strong player with definite D-1 potential. That Tallwood team is also steaped with some excellent talent. Larry Montgomery(2009), Pat Sexton(2009), Richard Dicks(2009), and Christian Avila(2011). As for Kempsville, Kyle Carlson(2009). All of those mentioned played for Legion Post 113 and had a very impressive summer. The junior 113 group also showcased some young talent for Catholic, and Tallwood. Of Tallwood: Adam Bouftali(2011)(of), Ryne Garrett(2011)*INF), and from Catholic, James Duvall(UTL)(2011), Marc Joe(2012)(OF), Robert Garrett (3b)(2010) and the before mentioned Josh Mason (2011)

Ian Shiner's game is very sound. Seems like the class of 2011 will have tons of talent. There is young player from Ocean Lakes named Killian.(not sure of his last name)

Ian is a very good talented kid. Hopefully, he has his schoolwork in order so he can play..

Killian Strenn is who you are talking about. Unfortunately for OL he moved to Wisconsin this past summer

I've said it in previous threads...2011 and 2012 will be the best classes to come out of this area in years.

It is to my understanding that Kyle Lawhorn is no longer playing baseball at Landstown. Any information as to why?

A few players under the radar are Landstown's Robert Perkins (3B, SS) although a little undersized. The kid can flat out run.

Kellam's- Kilman(sp) 1B. great bat in the line up of an athletic team.

Difugl (sp). pretty sure he went 7-2 or so last year as a sophmore? That's impressive

also to touch up on the kyle lawhorn story. From what i've heard he wasnt able to keep the grades up. shame, landstown defintely would have been a force with him
