I was wondering..For those who have players home for Christmas break..Do they need to go back earlier for workouts or do they get to enjoy the full break? My wife and I were just wondering what to expect for next year..Thank You

It really depends on the player.My son is a junior in college and the 1st 2 years he stayed home for 3 weeks between semesters but he worked out,hit, and threw every day. This year he's only been home 10 days and is going back early to hit it hard and will be joined by several teammates.
My son is going back to school about 3 days before classes start to get an early start on things but we have a batting cage in our yard where he hits during long breaks and his former high school lets him work out in their gym during his days at home. Last year baseball practice started before school resumed I believe by about 3 or 4 days in January. This year I think it starts the same day as school.
Thank you for the responses..It's all really starting to sink in..Trying to enjoy and appreciate the time he is still home with us. Already trying to plan for the breaks next year. He reports to school the second week of July ...so we are already planning things to do for most likely the last bit of summer we will have him around. Don't get me wrong it's great (we are thrilled)that he has this opportunity to be part of a great program but then again it's going to be real hard on my wife and I to see him off...
Classes begin January 10th. Coaches sent a letter to all players to be back on Saturday the 8th for 1pm practice.
Umm.. when does the NCAA allow these schools to begin practice? Seems awfully early from what I remember our baseball team starting..

Not really, first game is February 4th (brrrh).
Yep, 2/4 opening DH and then a game on the 5th! Hopefully it will be in the 70's by then.

Okay, I just know DI where their season can't start until middle-end of February.. February 4th is early!
Practice starts January 9th. Most of the kids will be back on the 3rd, on the field, in the cage, weight room, etc. on the 4th.
Our son's school doesn't resume classes until Jan 23rd but he has to report to team on the 2nd to begin practice. Their season starts the end of January.
