My name is Jalal Leach, and I'm an ex-major league baseball player. I've recently retired and started a Baseball Program in Sacramento California.

Since, I spent many years toiling in the minors before making it the "show", I have plenty of stories and tips to share.

If you are interested, please let us know if you would like to be added to our database, for our monthly newsletter. The newsletter website is: BMP NEWS

Thanks for the opportunity.

Wow! You guys are tough Big Grin

Hey, Leachy had a pretty good minor league career for 13 years and was
doing something right to be released so many times and being picked up
again each time. Just being in the Bigs for 10 days is an accomplishment and shows perserverance on his part.

Here's the problem-He's started his own business and is trying to capitalize on the fact that he is a former Major Leaguer, which is OK in my book, but he went about it the wrong way on this site. He should have
come on giving helpful suggestions and opinions and developed some credibility first and said, "Oh by the way if anyone is interested in discussing with me further just give me a call or visit my website" like
TRHit does sometimes. TR with over 5000 posts is obviously posting because
he enjoys it and if anything goes his way I don't believe it's because
he's solicited any business from this site.

Just a couple of cents worth.
I think Jalal deserves a break. We are all taking it for granted he understands all the rules on this site.

I don't think he deserves to be downgraded by any of us. I know I (for one) can't claim to have played in the Big Leagues for even one at bat.

I agree with Moc, this man had a long professional career. Perhaps we should respect that! With all his experience he probably has a lot to offer to young players. And maybe even to this site.

IMO He didn't do anything to deserve a "lynching". I hope Jalal comes on here and posts some interesting baseball stuff and everyone ends up liking him.
From my angle, Mr. Leach gets my respect because he, as PG said before me, has made it further than I ever did. Heck, I'd sell my wife's dog for only one day in the show! It may cost me a week or so on the couch, but you know the saying, don't do the crime if you can't do the time!

Maybe a little slap on the hand would have been fine, but do not degrade his accomplishments. One month in the bigs is more than almost all of us here. One of only 750 in this entire world in that time. Congrats Coach Leach!

So he put the post in more than one forum, send a pm, ask that he not do it again.

Mr. Leach, if you do decide to return to these here boards, I'd like to ask you a few questions for research on a project that I'm working on, your input could be quite valuable to the project itself.

By the way...18...that's a good number! Wink

Thanks,

I have to agree with Gloveman, PG and a few others. Mr. Leach deserves some respect for what he did accomplish. He was drafted, something that only happens to about 1% of all the eligible baseball players in amateur baseball every year. He may have only made it up to the show for 10 ABs; but he made it up.

I am not happy about how Mr. Leach went about his business on HSBASEBALLWEB, but maybe he just did not know what the rules are. Let's cut him some slack but if it continues, then folks can bring the hammer down.

I don’t think Mr. Leach deserves ANY criticism for his accomplishment because we all know playing professional ball is quite an accomplishment....but at the same time his advertising on the HSBBW deserves no endorsement. To advertise and endorse a product or service in multiple threads is disregarding the wishes of the administrator of the HSBBW. That to me is somewhat disrespectful. Mr. Leach I again invite you to participate and share your experiences and your knowledge with the players and the parents of the HSBBW. You would be an asset to the HSBBW and who know, your presence here could lead to increased activity in your baseball business. Smile Thread closed.
Thanks,
Fungo
