Would anyone care to share their experiences with senior players playing summer ball after they have committed to a JUCO? Should they play or not? Is it different for pitchers vs. position players?

I don't know of any college coach that would recommend a graduating hs senior to take the summer off....
I have had some pitchers who were Div I signees and their college pitching coaches just asked that we monitor their work load.

I think the JC coach may have a fear that the guy might sign D1 and he doesn't want to lose the player as late as the summer.... I'm just spitballing though, I never coached summer ball or JC ball
