Thanks to all you moms who really are the backbone of every family. Dads may hit endless grounders and batting practice, etc. but it is the day to day stuff that keeps the family going. My wife has been ill since November and I’m trying to do the Mr. Mom thing and probably failing big time…….It is amazing the things she has done for 20 years of our marriage that just seemed easy for her.

I did get adventurous today and tried to make peppercorn pork, mashed potatoes and a veggie – it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t mom’s. I used to joke with my son that if he hit the big home run in the World Series and looked to the camera and said “hi mom” I would be upset. Now I would encourage that response. May the good Lord be with you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To our military men, women and families - You are all awesome - that flag is yours and I thank you for the opportunity for giving me the honor of removing my cap prior to every baseball game I see.

catcher09,

Your post is very nice, and thoughtful. I'm sure your wife appreciates you during this difficult time, just as your appreciation has grown for everything she always did. Very best wishes to you and your family. (And you are invited to drop by the Ladies' Lounge any time you need a word of advice or a sympathetic ear.)

Julie
