Ok coaches -- here is my question. My highschool senior has never worn sunglasses to play baseball. If he starts wearing them now during summer ball, in the field and then takes them off to bat, won't that be an adjustment with his focus? I know once I got used to wearing sunglasses, I can't see without them.

Haha TR, I wondered about that too with teh glasses on the hat.
On a more serious note, as an outfielder, I hated sunglasses. The darkness from it hindered my ability to read and track the ball of the bat.
But that's just me. But when it comes to everyone think about this....the sun is ******* powerful and bright, no matter if you wear the glasses or not, if a fly ball is hit in the sun, the sun is gonna blind you no matter what for that time that you're trying to track the ball in the sun. So my advice would be to teach everyone the 'gloveshade' method regardless of how strong or how sensitive their eyesite. As for wearing glasses i think it's a personal preference. I myself can't read the ball off the bat as well since it's a bit too dark for my eyes, yet simply the glare off the fan seats may be enough for someone with very sensitive eyes to wear glasses.

Bottom line: if you can't catch/judge the ball with them on, ditch em. And vice versa.
