ClevelandDad, ????

I can't say anything better than what has already been said here. But a little twist on the "Never Forget" request, for me, is "Always Remember".

Always remember your thoughts of the day: the horror, the sadness, the sorrow, the pride in everybody who risked their lives, the eeriness of the silent and empty sky, and the pride in being an American. Always remember so many cars on the street that had flags waving--some small, some so large that I don't know how the car could drive with the drag of the air on it. Always remember all of the houses that magically had American flags flying on them.

When I was in grade school, we learned the song, God Bless America. An old lady sang it once in a while on Ed Sullivan. It was just a dull, old song. That is, until September, 2001. And then the song wasn't so dull anymore. It had meaning. And suddenly there were other patriotic songs all over the airwaves. And people actually knew the words......and sang them.....and now they are part of our maybe not "daily" lives, but a part of our lives.

God Bless America or God Bless the USA. Take your pick. They're all good.
