James River game was kind of sleepy actually. Taylor Jaszewski and Casey Jones homered, but for the most part it was just a matter of Clover Hill not doing anything offensively. JR scored one in each of the first three innings then 3 in the 4th and another one later on. Really they should've put the game away and to me it's (only slightly) worrisome they did not.
Kit Scheetz held C.H. to one hit through six shutout innings. Nate Kirby, just loosening up in his first outing returning from a sprained ankle, faced 4 batters in the 7th: F-4, then three K's. (One K reached on a dropped 3d strike.)
I think that makes Scheetz 3-0 with one run allowed in 17 innings over his three starts. My math says 0.41 ERA. And I think 20 K's in 17 innings. Not bad for your first three varsity starts after missing the entire 2010 season with a knee injury.
