Isn't it great when your son has a place in the world. So many kids never experience the great feeling that being a part of a team gives you. I know your proud of your son. Too many people have no idea the sacrifice and dedication that it takes be a part of a team. Good luck today I hope your sons team plays well and he has a great time.
Thanks Coach May. I went and watched his former Little League allstar team mates play their first game last night and three freshmen were starting on the 2A varsity team. I coached most of the guys on the team at one time or another, so it was a special feeling. We moved to county with a strong 4A program where playing time even at the JV level is uncertain. His days as a position player may be over.
Needless to say, it has all the makings for an emotional day.

What a great feeling! Wish I could say the same. My son got cut because of a grade deficiency at the 6 week period (a progress report in Algebra II and the grade is already back to passing and going up). He just came out of another sport that kept him on the road for 15 days/nights of the period. He is a jr. who has never been ineligible at any time and had a chance to play this year. Needless to say he is devastated and I'll miss it too. Tough lesson to learn for one so young. He could have gone into an integrated math class and made a grade without a problem, but it would have left him deficient for college later on.
