May God be with all families who were affected by this tragedy.

That's a wonderful gesture. Everyone involved in this horrible tragedy will appreciate it.

I understand one of the 3 young men in the crash was a transfer to Sherman HS who was visiting for the weekend.

Best wishes to the families, friends and all of their teammates!!

You've got to be kidding me. Matt played with this kid for several seasons with the Texas Roughriders. I can't believe this. We just played Sherman about a month ago and I talked to his mom Maria for a long time. Any word yet on how these guys are doing now? Any info would be appreciated.
The player who was killed was Jimmy White, a junior pitcher for the Tomball Cougars. We understand that the vehicle was going speeds faster than 80 mph. Jimmy was not driving. We found out that the other one who was not driving broke his leg.

OP --

We played Sherman tonight. I asked three different people how he was doing. From what little they seemed to know, he had surgery today. He is, of course, still in the Houston area, so the Sherman parents are not able to get that much information right now.
I did talk to a Sherman dad whose son also played on that same team. He told me the driver was the Sherman kid and that he had severe face (head) trauma, many, many broken bones in his face. He is not on life support, but was in a coma for a short time. It appears he will pull through. Not sure the status of the 3rd player. I think there is much more to the story also that I don't want to bring up here on this board. I guess time will tell.

What a shame!
Anybody down Tomball way know how the Sherman kid is doing? It's been a few days since I've heard any news. Also, how is the kid that broke his leg?

I can't imagine the pain the family of the player that was killed is feeling. Things like this are not supposed to happen to young people.

What a shame this happened. You young people out there......every decision you make impacts the rest of your life. Make good decisions.
