Who are the top 08 prospects in the mid-west? in the nation?

Tim Melville from Holt HS in Wentzville Mo and Daniel Webb from Heath Ky are both rated in the top 10 in the country acoording to baseball america.
After checking those websites I was wondering if there is any other published "prospect" list other than PG's? I know PG is a frequent participant in many of the discussions, etc. and I don't mean to offend but I was just wondering if there was anyway to appear on somebody's "list" without being associated with PG.
I think PG is great and I wish that we had had the time and $ necessary for him to have been a member but he's now a 19 y/o sophmore at Maple Woods and is being highly recruited by several top D1s but I certainly can't find him on any "prospect" list. He did pitch a no-hitter at a PG tornament in '04 in Marietta, GA but
never actually became a member or went to any of the clinics/camps. Is it a must nowdays?

No it is not a must. You do not have to go to thier camps to get on any "prospect" list, just show at the big tournements and play good ball.
Yeah I have played against Melville, he uses his arm everywhee, whos is that Daniel Webb kid? Where does he top out at if he is a pitcher?
Webb has topped out at 92. He has a pretty good stick also.
Is he an all-american?
I havent seen him on any lists yet.

I don't think the PG list for '08's is out yet. It's due out this month. They are now working their rankings jointly with Baseball America.
Baseball America published a list of "top 10" for each age group last summer. I think you can still find it on their web site, though you may have to be a subscriber to get at it. The problem is I think they go by age, not by class, so some in last year's 15u class (now 16u) are, like Robert Stock, actually '07's.
Melville is the best young pitcher I have ever seen personally. He is both 16u and '08. I am sure there are others but I can't imagine there are too many out there in his class. Not bad in the field or at the plate, either!
I know in Virginia a web site called Virginia Preps publishes an in-state prospect list, but I have no idea whether it's accurate or not, or how they compile it. But I think they only focus on seniors. I believe they are affiliated with something called Rivals.com that runs similar web sites in other states, so you could try searching for Rivals.com.
None of these lists are ever to be taken as the gospel, but I would suggest you take any '08 lists with an extra heavy dose of salt. Fun if you're on one, but in truth, lots of kids with top talent just don't start making the rounds of showcases that early, and thus will not be on any lists.

You are exactly right. There are many, many incredible athletes around that nobody really knows anything about, especially in the 16U, 08 class. They will begin springing up on the radar screens this summer and next. I know there are several in the DFW area that the national people haven't heard about that will be top national prospects in the next couple of years.

i dont know if he'll be top in the nation but theres a kid playing for olathe east(olathe, ks) named colton murray who is a stud on the mound. RHP throws heat along with a nasty curveball. hes got a big upside for a sophomore. played out at kauffman(the royals stadium) this year and i was told he hit 88 on the gun. pretty big fastball for a sophomore.

Zac Elgie from Minot, ND has to be one of the top players of the class of 08 in the midwest.
Oh yeah I also forgot to mention he was named a pre season louisville all american.
