Wakeland scores one of its two dozen runs against Rockwall-Heath in the playoff series... mainly on Greg McCall's 3 homers in 2 games...

But lost in excitement about going to state..

Wakeland runner scored from second on a deep fly to centerfeld.. throw was to third.. very nice, aggressive baseruning..

Best baserunning I've seen

1. Duncanville WINS extra inning playoff game...
Speedy runner at second... one out... Dunc coach Bob Rombach (retired 3 years now.. wow in itself) calls hit and run sac bunt.. perfectly laid down third base line.. Rombach windmills the runner from second the whole time... third throws to first for out but the runner beats the throw home from first and it's the only walk-off sac bunt I've seen...

Other nominations?

I claim the runner on this one if is the one where our leadoff batter crushed the ball deep. Son earned his pinch runner legs mid-way through season once released to run. Lost his senior season of continuing as a starting pitcher for Wakeland (Tommy John surgery) but took advantage of the opportunity given to him by the coach to be able to contribute.
BTW I give our coach tremendous credit for doing such a great job of coaching the bases-he is a great motivator for the players in all aspects of the game and we are proud to have him on board.
I agree.. watch the coaches who coach the role players.. there will come a time when they'll make a play that can mean difference..it was the play heath center fielder drew baxter made a good catch on a crushed ball

to ride one or two players to a bunch of wins isn't a given but that's what many do and it really starts to show when the cycle of good players thins out
