Correction - Mangrum's ball went out of the stadium.
Workout Standouts
Stevie Mangrum ran a 6.93
Logan Harvey (Freeman), Evan Sperling (Grafton) and Connor Eason (Hickory) could not go due to their high schools still being in the state playoffs.
The only other VA player at the National is Nathan Trevellian (Amherst County).
Trevillian threw 2 innings this morning. 1 unearned run on a bobbled grounder, SB, and a Texas Leaguer. 2 K's, 1 BB, 2 singles allowed, 2 pop outs and 1 DP bouncer.
Couldn't tell his velocity as they only announced it once. Lots of running movement on his fastball, more when high in the zone. Seemed to want to show his curve a lot today.
Nathan Trevelian filled up the strike zone with a fastball that worked in the 87-89 mph range showing nice life to his arm side well. He worked two effective innings on the mound showing a changeup at 82 mph and a curveball with 11-5 shape at 74 mph.
That might've been his lowest velo day of the year. Bad time to do that. But the movement was very hard on hitters.
