I know as the boys get older and into high school and play on travel/showcase teams there are those tournaments peple consider "must attend events", but what about those kind of tournaments for youth travel teams?

Are there really any "must attend events" and if so what are they?
and it tastes great too!

I am a bit prejudiced but you should check out the MCYSA 11U International Championships and the MCYSA 13U International Invitational.

The 11U is July 29 - August 6, 2011 in Crystal Lake, Illinois NW of Chicago. Seven game guarantee. Five in pool play followed by Gold and Silver double-elim. brackets. All games played to completion - no time limits. 85% of the games are played on the Boncosky Synthetic Infields/natural grass outfields complex at Lippold Park (Crystal Lake Park District facility). The cost is $895.00 with no other mandatory additional charges. International teams as of right now include: Puerto Rico (2), the Dominican Republic, Aruba. Working with Panama, Canada and Mexico. Limited to 30 teams - we had 28 last year. This is the 6th year that we have run the event. It is USSSA sanctioned.

The 13U is August 3 - 7, 2011 also in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Five game guarantee. Four in pool play followed by Gold and Silver single-elim. brackets. Again no time limits on the games. Games played at the Sund Complex and the Boncosky Complex at Lippold Park. Games also played at Spoerl Park and the Ice House. The cost is $795.00 no other mandatory charges. International teams as of right now include: Brazil, Puerto Rico (2), the Dominican Republic, Aruba. Working with Sri Lanka, Panama and Canada. Max of 30 teams - it was filled last year.
