I've gotten myself into something here....as I tend to do. My daughter's boyfriend (who has a highly unusual background) needs to dispose of a whole lotta stuff prior to leaving for college next year. As both of his parents are in nursing homes, he has no parents to help him....and his guardian is a 30 year old man who is (what's the word I'm looking for?) useless, so I've pretty much adopted him.

These things include Yolanda collector's dolls, some lovely china, depression glass, collector's plates, and enough cut glass to choke a horse (if only I had a horse).

I'm going to have to do some research to see what I have here in order to do right by our James, but in the meantime, I thought I'd offer the fine ladies of the forum a chance.

Should you or members of your family collect any of these sorts of things and know a reasonable value, PT me and I'll let you know what I have.

Donna,

I'm not a collector of any of those items, but there is a huge market for the china, depression glass, etc. on eBay. Would anyone in your family have the time to do a little research, looking up similar items on eBay to see what info to include in the auction description to get a good price? You do have to be able to post a photo with the item to get a good market price, but you might be surprised at the top bids some of the stuff will bring!

If this is something you might consider, I have done a little selling on eBay and could give you some other "insiders' tips" that might help if you want to PM me.
