Towny Townsend - GCA

I spoke to someone very close to Towny today and it was more of an offer made by GCA that Towny didn't except, it was more of a mutual departure. In my opinion Towny got SCREWED. Towny is also looking to coach somewhere next season even if is an assistant job. Don't worry Towny will come out of this on his feet.

i don't think it was a mutual departure...Coach Townsend wanted to be the head baseball coach at GCA next year..he didn't want to go anywhere

Towny had an option that would have kept him at GCA but declined. Either way they SCREWED him and Gary was put in a position that wasn't right and I know he wasn't happy about it. I just don't get it, they're a christian school and they do this to someone. I's just not right.

odu would be wise to hire towny as the head assistant/recruiting coodinator asap since greenbrier "christian" has now become a potential fortune 500 company ! everything happens for a reason, and towny townsend will stay the winner he has always been !! keep it on the high road coach T.

Northern Va parent here. We played GCA a couple of times last year and I was really impressed with Townsend. He is a class act. Whoever gets him will benefit greatly.

Agree that Coach Townsend has a very respectful reputation in the baseball community and a winner to most whom know him.
