I cannot speak for the TPX 96, but the Battle on the Ship Mid Atlantic High School Baseball Classic is a VERY good showcase. Last year there were about 250 kids who came from MD, DC, Virginia, and I believe some from PA and Delaware (I could be wrong). From what I heard, this year he has managed to make it even bigger. The game will be televised and will pit players from New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsyvania and Delaware against players from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC and Florida. I went last year and there were at least 10-15 college scouts on the Friday and I am not sure how many on Sunday. I say at least, there might have been many more. Again, I am not saying the TPX one is bad at all, I just do not know anything about it. Hope this helps a little.
I am the Dad of a player who has done Top 96.
Top 96 started in New England. They are sponsored by TPX. The people who run these events do a great job. The New England event is very well attended by top level schools. I will tell you this.If your son goes and does well.......
He will get plenty of exposure. This is what it is all about. If he does well you will most likely have more interest than you can handle. My son did a great job and has received interest from every major college in the North East. Harvard, Dartmouth, Boston College, Northeastern, St.Johns, Holy Cross,West Virginia. These are only a few there are many, many more from D1,D2 and D3. The Coachs at these events come to find players. I do not work for Top 96,just sharing our experience.
These showcases are expensive, but from our experience well worth the investment.
