OK TPM, Here is an answer and a story that blends in with the other thread on the Area Code Games tryout. Dontrelle can swing the bat and is more than just a pitcher. When he was a Junior in high school he played for me in the Area Code games. The first day of the event he asked me in the 2nd inning if he could hit.....I told him that I would let him hit sometime, but not until all the position players had a chance to hit. The next inning he says "comeon Doug, let me hit". I repeat what I had said to him before. Every inning he keeps after me to let him hit until finally in the 7th inning he says "Doug, if you let me hit I will buy you dinner". I started laughing and asked him "what kind of dinner"? He says "anything but lobster because that is seasonal"???? I started laughing and told him to grab a bat. He hit a line drive base hit to RF and stood there with a great big grin on his face.

He still owes me a dinner.

I loved your story as I can relate to pitchers' wanting to have their turn at bat!

Not much of a basketball fan, but it was fun to watch the Heat win the national championship. Heat play in MIAMI, somehow I often feel that is in the next state! Or another country!
