Welcome to the HSBBW bawlplaya...and you as well tedballgame.

I looked at the video and thought the device has some merit. If it helps your son improve his hitting and has him jazzed then there's nothing wrong with that!

Not the shape, but the color reminds me of a similar device that I used back in my youth...

Wink

Anyone else have an opinion on the crooked bat?

Not sure it it work or not--it is an interesting concept. However, while looking thru the list of skills that the device is supposed to emphasize, they all sounded good till I got to this one:

"Promotes a level plane swing"

That right there is a red flag that the product inventor does not know what is involved with a high level swing.......

Bawlplaya, do MLB hitters grip the bat this way?....And, do they swing level?

And, one more...Must the hands stay ahead of the barrel of the bat through contact?

This clip of Manny is one where he is obviously fooled by the an offspeed pitch so his hands were in front of the bathead at contact. And he very easily might have hit that pitch out of the park. He is Manny. He was fooled because he is facing MLB pitchers. The (deleted) aid is used to teach new hitters and reinforce sound swinga to the proper swing path. I would bet if you took the video example of Manny you posted or the video examples of the kids on the (Deleted) web site, they would not agree with you. Its hard to compare a 5-17 yr old trying to learn the swing to Manny.

bawlplaya,
Welcome to the HSBBW. You just registered yesterday and your first posts are explaining how your son "just happened" to tell you about a training aid product. You "just happened" to look at their website and overnight you become a dedicated supporter and endorser of that product without ever seeing it. Sorry but that fits the description of SPAM and will be deleted. If you wish to advertise please follow this link:

Thanks,

I want to apologize for accusing the original poster of spamming the site. How could it possibly be spam when the product is available at <<< deleted by moderator >>> and the here's the source of the original post .....

Training aid? Or not? You be the judge.

Hmmmm....OK...

* Chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added. Know many good long term pitchers with multiple surgically repired shoulders that now look like chopped pork. Logically then, all good, long term pitchers NEED shoulders that look like Chopped prok meat. On the mound? Center of attention? Maybe pitchers NEED to be part Ham. This ingredient passes the training aid test.

* Salt (for binding, flavor, and firmness). Binding? Certainly wouldn't want the squirts on the field. Good skill to have. Passes. Flavor? Flavor: Character, and style...can be important for both intimidation and product endorsement. Passes. Firmness. Goes without saying. Passes.

* Water (to help in mixing). Human body is 60% water content (Wikipedia) baby! Water needed in training. Passes. And teams need to be a good "mixture". All up for learning team play. Passes.

* Sugar (for flavor).Nothin' wrong with a little sweetness! Can't be all work. Passes.

* Sodium Nitrite (for color and as a preservative). Good Color commentary brings advertising revenue. Passes. To one view, the hall of fame is a "preservation". Good goal for a training tool. Passes.

That's 10 for 10...100% passes as a training tool...

Ya know that great Ebay Spam sale?...

...nevermind.

Cool 44
