Right now I am a sophomore at a JC. (Possibly getting a red shirt from last year but unsure now). This is just a hypothetical question.

I wanted to know if I can go to a JC next fall then transfer in the spring, and then do that again the following year. Go JC in fall, and other school in spring for baseball. Because the JC is very close and affordable.

Thanks for the help!

This definitely can not be done at a D1, since midyear transfers are not eligible.

It may be possible in other divisions, but I'm not sure. In D2, Bylaw 14.5.4.5.4 allows transferring from a JC back to the "original" D2 school. That might allow multiple transfers to a single D2.

However, as a practical matter, keeping up with the requirements of academic progress would be very difficult. Normally JCs don't offer courses that correspond to degree-level courses at a 4 year school for students in the 3rd year or higher in college.

Would a coach at a 4 year school be happy with this approach, even if it turns out to be within the rules?
