Ran into a couple different situations. In one case a friend's sons went to one of the Arizona schools as walk-ons under the impression that they'd most likely make the team. They were encouraged to attend a JC in our area and the family is happy about how it has turned out and hopeful that the the boys will end up at the Arizona school.
I also heard of similar situation where a player walked on at a central CA school under the impression that he was likely to make the team and then was encouraged to attend a nearby JC. This player doesn't want to attend the CA school feeling that he was misled.
It seems like this is a pretty common practice and a player that walks on should realize it might happen.
Opinions?
