Travel on college team

Son is an 08 graduate who is recruited to play next year on mid-major D1. For a freshman what is the typical travel expectations? Do coaches usually take all 35 players on the spring trips? Do they take all players to regular season away games? I know the NCAA has rules for conference tournament rosters--is it 25?

The travel roster is only 25 players per NCAA rules. Some coaches will take other players but they are not going to play qnd don't dress.
